ASMR Medical Research Week® 2010 is 4th - 11th June Throughout the year, there is a constant stream of positive media coverage of developments in medical research. This media interest reflects the strong public interest in medical research and discovery and the direct effect of those advances on the quality of life of many people. ASMR Medical Research Week® seeks to harness that interest by: Presenting an overview of the year's medical research achievements and allowing the media and public to explore the importance of those developments. Encouraging students to investigate careers in medical research. Demonstrating the need for political and funding support for medical research.
Australian medical researchers have an exciting history of providing world leading health solutions. This history is reflected in our disproportionately high number of Nobel Prize Winners. In such an exciting environment of discovery, the Australian Society for Medical Research shares their vision, their results and their concerns with the general public in a broad annual program of exhibitions, lectures, competitions, career advice, interviews, awards and functions during ASMR Medical Research Week®.
